He knew she had followed him. She always did.
“What do you want, Granger?” he asked, exasperated. He looked through the mirror out of the corner of his eye. She looked surprised that he knew she was there.
“I just…” she faltered, then stood straighter, putting on a determined face. “I wanted to know if you were alright.”
“Why do you care?” he asked derisively. ”Did the Wonder Duo send you over here for a good laugh?”
“No…” she said hesitantly. ”I’m worried about you, Ma-” she paused. “I’m worried about you, Draco,” she corrected.
He looked up, making eye contact with her through the mirror.
“Let me help you,” she pleaded, taking a step closer. ”Please.”
He trembled, then looked back down to the sink. ”You can’t help me,” he whispered. “Nobody can.”
